The range that the 2025 Rose La Piu Belle falls within includes a Carménère-dominant red and a Champagne. Here, 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Syrah, and 6% Carménère are harvested at the peak of their aromas and fermented like a white wine on native yeasts. A portion goes into barrel, mostly new or barrels used the year before for this same wine. Bâtonnage contributes medium-bodied creaminess to the palate, which is accented in fresh apricot, peach, and white flower flavors with a touch of fresh herb. There’s lots of texture and complexity to love here, as well as an exquisite salmon color. Drink now through 2030.

About This Wine

There is nothing casual about VIK’s 2025 La Piu Belle Rosé. Built primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon grown on the Millahue estate, it receives the same vineyard selection and cellar attention as VIK’s 100-point flagship red. That fits a producer founded with the ambition of making one of the world’s great wines. La Piu Belle brings that ambition to rosé, with 94-point results. The blend is 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Syrah, and 6% Carménère, drawn from distinct sectors of Millahue. Cabernet comes from Cerro al Medio, where deep clay-loam piedmont soils are threaded with granite; Carménère comes from the sandy, well-drained soils of Los Mineros; and Syrah is sourced from Los Mineros and Feria. Together, those sites bring structure, breadth, and a mineral edge. The cellar work takes La Piu Belle beyond conventional rosé. The fruit is harvested early and gently pressed for freshness, while 19% of the wine is refined in French oak with bâtonnage to build texture and volume. The entire harvest then spends time in VIK’s Circular Barrels, reclaimed and re-toasted older barrels from the estate’s aging program. It’s an unusually involved path for rosé, and what gives La Piu Belle its depth without sacrificing freshness.
