Ghost Block’s 2025 MorgaenLee Sauvignon Blanc comes from one of Yountville’s oldest plantings of the variety. Planted in 1978, the vines are dry-farmed and certified organic, giving the wine nearly half a century of vineyard history beneath it. Ghost Block builds complexity by harvesting the vineyard three different times. Each pass captures a different stage of maturity, from bright citrus tension to broader, riper flavors, giving the final wine greater range without sacrificing freshness. 2025 also marks a new direction in the cellar. It is Priyanka Dhar French’s first harvest with Ghost Block, and the wine is now 100% Sauvignon Blanc. Roughly 30% was held in concrete, with the balance in stainless steel to preserve freshness. For a vineyard planted in 1978, the 2025 feels like a remarkably fresh beginning.
