“From a gem of a site in the Petaluma Gap, the 2019 Pinot Noir Gap's Crown Vineyard is a darker, concentrated effort that has lots of Bing cherry and darker mulberry-like fruits as well as sappy flowers, underbrush, and sassafras nuances. It's rocking on the palate as well and is medium-bodied, has good mid-palate depth, ripe tannins, and outstanding length on the finish. It's a bigger styled Pinot Noir that still stays classy, elegant, and pure, with enough structure to keep or 7-8 years if you're so inclined.”

About This Wine

2019 BRULIAM GAP'S CROWN VINEYARD PETALUMA GAP PINOT NOIR After completing medical school, Kerith Overstreet decided winemaking sounded more exciting and enrolled to study enology at UC Davis, leading to her first harvest in 2008. Launching Bruliam with a single barrel, Kerith now produces around 1000 cases annually of primarily single-vineyard Pinot Noir from cherished grower relationships in Sonoma County and Santa Lucia Highlands. Gap's Crown Vineyard is the winery's oldest vineyard partner and arguably among the best vineyard sites in Sonoma County, benefitting from nearby coastal influences, loamy soils, and a well-drained rocky, hillside terrain that moderates yield. The 2019 vintage was hand-harvested, hand-sorted, 100% destemmed, and matured in a combination of 500-liter Vicard puncheon and François Frères barrels, promoting the wines' beautifully integrated flavors. A stunning example of Gap's Crown fruit, this wine is, as Jeb Dunnuck writes, "rocking on the palate" yet stays "classy, elegant, and pure."
