2018 DANIEL GRAND VENT VINEYARD PETALUMA GAP PINOT NOIR Winery Notes: "90 Cases Produced. The wine is translucent ruby, much less color extraction than 2018. It has a surprisingly heady nose, with mushrooms and earthy forest floor. We pick up secondary notes of slate and graphite, and ultimately notes of dark fruit compote. The palate is nicely balanced, delicate and racy, with an emerging weight and viscosity that should develop over the years. Since we’re tasting this in November, the season may be influencing us, as we’re picking up loads of baking spices, nutmeg, mace and allspice. The fruit is reminiscent of quince paste and fig."
