2018 CORNERSTONE FIDDLESTIX VINEYARD STA. RITA HILLS PINOT NOIR Established in 1991 by Michael Dragutsky, Cornerstone Cellars has been crafting exceptional wines for over 30 years from some of California's most distinctive vineyards. Planted in the Santa Rita Hills in 1996, the Fiddlestix Vineyard has played a significant role in advancing the AVA as a prominent winegrowing region due to its premium Pinot Noir and Chardonnay fruit. Winemaker Kari Auringer spent years as Cornerstone's assistant winemaker, working with legendary winemaking consultant Celia Welch, who is responsible for crafting some of Napa's most famous names, including Scarecrow, Keever, Kelly Fleming, and Corra before Kari became Cornerstone's lead winemaker in 2014, and the wines have never been better. The 2018 Fiddlestix Vineyard Pinot Noir is an equal blend of Dijon Clone 667 and Clone 777, aged in 55% New French oak, and is showing brilliantly after a few years in the bottle.
