In our group tasting, we all agreed it was our favorite Heir Apparent wine yet, and the wine perfectly expresses Oakville's notorious complexity, and it does so with the confidence and precision definition that you'd expect from an Oakville wine. The winery is part of Grand Napa Vineyards and it's located in key area of Rutherford, not far from Staglin... The brand consistently out-performs others in sheer value, concentration, and hedonistic flavors, and it does so without sacrificing sense of place. The 2017 is made in a style that's both compact, linear and opens up to cocoa dusted raspberries, red plum, spring flowers and cherry tobacco. Finely grained, dusty tannins wrap effortlessly around your palate in all directions as vivid red currants, classic Oakville minerals and dried herbs seduce your senses.
