STEPS Reserve Barrel Select Three-Vintage Napa Valley Vertical 2021 · 2022 · 2023 2 bottles of each STEPS is one of those wines where the price never quite explains what’s in the bottle. The Reserve is assembled barrel by barrel from serious Napa fruit, with the same level of attention we normally associate with wines around the $100 mark. At $49.99, it has always overdelivered. The vineyard sourcing gives the barrel selection something worthwhile to work with. STEPS was conceived around the contrast between Napa’s richer valley-floor fruit and the structure of its mountain sites, with the final Reserve narrowed down to only the strongest barrels. Four made the cut in 2021, four in 2022, and three in 2023. Now we can show STEPS the way it deserves to be seen: across vintages. The 2021, 2022, and 2023 are all drinking beautifully, and with no 2024 produced, this six-bottle set captures the Reserve’s complete recent run. Two bottles of each gives you one set to open side by side and another to revisit later.
