Baron Philippe de Rothschild of Chateau Mouton Rothschild in Bordeaux and Robert Mondavi of Napa Valley fame joined forces in 1979 to create OPUS ONE WINERY. The estate vineyards rise from the western part of Oakville, including 100 acres within the highly acclaimed To-Kalon Vineyard and 70 acres combined between the Ballestra and River parcels surrounding the winery.
