Mature vines, coastal influence, and nearly four decades of meticulous farming have given the site an identity too distinct to fold into a blend. Talley has spent decades letting it speak for itself. The 2023 Pinot Noir is the clearest expression yet, a wine that could come from nowhere else. The growing season played directly to those strengths. Abundant winter rainfall and a long period on the vine delivered fruit of striking freshness and balance. Rather than chasing additional ripeness in the cellar, the team simply preserved what the vineyard had already given, so its unmistakable character stayed front and center. Hand-harvested at night, fermented with native yeast in small open-top bins, and aged sixteen months in French oak, the wine has already collected a pair of 95-point scores. Another reminder that the world’s best bottles begin with truly exceptional vineyards.
