More About 2021 Altagracia by Eisele Vineyard Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Formerly Araujo Estate, Eisele Vineyard is at the northern end of Napa Valley, east of Calistoga, and was originally planted with vines in 1880. The first release under the Eisele name was in 1971. The vineyard, planted primarily with Cabernet Sauvignon, was converted to organic farming in 1998, followed by biodynamic practices in 2000. Altagracia is a Bordeaux-style blend sourced from the eastern parcels of the estate vineyard blended with other small grower partners in the Valley and vinified with the same strict regimen as the flagship Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2021 vintage delivered small yields of concentrated fruit, and this release is 89% Cabernet Sauvignon with Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The wine matured in French oak and Austrian foudres for 21 months, resulting in a perfect immersion of fruit and spice with an optimal tannin structure that will unfold beautifully in the cellar.
