More about 2019 Chimney Rock Tomahawk Vineyard Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon Chimney Rock is a paragon producer of classic Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon. Founded in 1980 by Hack and Stella Wilson, the winery produced its first vintage in 1984. In 2000, the Wilsons partnered with the Terlato family, who dedicated resources to constructing a new, state-of-the-art winemaking facility in 2002. This facility gives the winemaking team unlimited freedom and flexibility to craft their award-winning wines. The Tomahawk Vineyard is a small plot at the southern end of the property that was planted over two decades ago. It consistently produces intensely flavored fruit with multiple layers of complexity. Winemaker Elizabeth Vianna worked as a harvest intern at Chimney Rock in 1999 while completing her Master's in enology at UC Davis. She joined the team three years later and rose through the ranks to become head winemaker in 2005. Chimney Rock's 2019 Tomahawk Cabernet Sauvignon is robust and full-bodied with great aging potential, a trademark lengthy finish, and scores consistently high in critics' reviews.
