“The Morisoli Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 begins with a pure, elegant nose of red and black fruits, baking spice, violets, and Kalamata olives. The concentrated palate has a linear focus, with primary flavors of blackberries and red currants, along with the signature Rutherford dust, then continuing with dried mushrooms, pen ink, and pipe tobacco. This gorgeous Rutherford Cab is beautifully constructed, with all of the balance, elegance, power, and grace you would expect from Winemaker Joel Aiken. The intense fruit, long finish, and firm structure promise a couple of decades of future enjoyment. This stunner is a superb wine that any collector would be delighted to have in their cellar.”

2018 MORISOLI VINEYARD RUTHERFORD ESTATE CABERNET SAUVIGNON The same family has farmed Morisoli Vineyard in Rutherford since 1902, and many would argue that its grapes rival Napa Valley's most coveted vineyards. Gary, Melody, and son Chris Morisoli still implement an old-world style of farming using some of the farm's original tractors and a French plow for weed control around the vines. Winemaker Joel Aiken is an expert in Rutherford terroir. He graduated from UC Davis, spent 27 years at the historic Beaulieu Vineyards (BV), and later created Aiken Wine Consulting, which introduced him to the Morisoli family. The 2018 Morisoli Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is rich, bold, and age-worthy, coming from the celebrated Rutherford Bench, with concentrated flavors reminiscent of mountain fruit that proudly represent the inaugural vintage release of the brand.
