2010 CARVER SUTRO "PALISADES VINEYARD" PETITE SIRAH From Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Petite Sirah Palisades Vineyard was harvested surprisingly early (October 6) and came in at 26.5 brix, equaling 14.2% alcohol. It exhibits a dense purple color as well as notes of blueberries, violets, incense and wet steel (an expression of minerality from the older vines?). Deep, ripe and full-bodied, this classic Petite Sirah was aged in a combination of new and old French oak. It should last for 25 or more years. These offerings, which come from the northern Calistoga AVA vineyard called Palisades, are made from 40-year-old, head-trained, dry-farmed Petite Sirah vines." 94 Points
