Intense aromas of smoky red plum, licorice and fresh medicinal herbs on the slightly high-toned nose, plus a suggestion of cherry skin. Dense and fruity in the mouth if still a bit youthfully tight, showing considerable sweetness to the flavors of red berries, dark red cherry and licorice. Finishes smooth and long, with firm but refined tannins. I'd give this a couple of years before pulling the cork. This very fleshy, rich, ripely styled Brunello manages to stay light on its feet thanks to very good acidity. Although this seems as if it's carrying a little residual sugar, it's hard to argue with its charm and sheer fruity exuberance." 92 Points
