2017 PRISONER WINE CO. “SALDO” ZINFANDEL

The Spanish word Saldo means balance, and Prisoner’s Saldo Zinfandel not only balances fruit from several of California’s most renowned appellations, but it perfectly scales the focused, jammy fruit, aromatic spices and round, plush tannins.  It’s also a stupendous value, and the retail price has remained nearly unchanged since its debut back in 2007.
