2012 EMERSON BROWN “III Michaels Vineyard”, Cabernet
Maybe the most talented young Cabernet-making team in Napa Valley. Keith Emerson runs the show at Vineyard 29 in St. Helena, fashioning 95-97 point beauties, from Chuck McMinn’s “Aida” & “Estate” Vineyards… Brian Brown was the winemaker at Round Pond, where he crafted the $100/bottle Reserve Cab that ranks among the greatest Cabs from the iconic Rutherford AVA.
A Single Vineyard Oakville Cab, from a neighborhood where Cabernets of this caliber usually go for well over $150/btl… The pristine “III Michaels Vineyard”, recently purchased by the ARAUJOs, neighbors the famous “Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard” (BV Fans will recognize this famous site), which sits adjacent to CAYMUS Vineyards and has gone into such notables as SCHRADER & STAGLIN.

2012 EMERSON BROWN "III Michaels Vineyard", Cabernet
WCC Notes: "Deep, Penetrating dark purple/violet in color, featuring an outstanding Bouquet of crushed black fruits and crème de cassis. A rich, velvety texture coats the palate as the flavors unfold. Copious amounts of black plum, vanilla/oak and black cherry are scrumptious and deeply concentrated. The ultra-fine grain and perfectly integrated tannins make this wine extraordinarily enjoyable now, or you may also cellar it for up to 15 years."
