2016 TENUTE BOSCO PIANO DEI DAINI ETNA ROSSO
$39.99 $39.99
Born from two small and distinct vineyards on the slopes of Mount Etna with some of the vines over 120 years old, Tenute Bosco’s Piano Dei Daini Etna Rosso bears beautifully focused fruit with a profound sense of place. Mount Etna’s volcanic activity frequently replenishes its topsoil with fresh volcanic ash and rock layers, giving a terroir-specific earthiness and a lively, tingling acidity that’s present in this wine.
Etna Rosso must comprise a minimum of 80% Nerello Mascalese, an indigenous varietal known for its smaller Pinot Noir-like berries with low yields, allowing for a more significant skin-to-flesh ratio resulting in added complexity and flavor concentration. Incorporating the unique elements of Sicily’s Mount Etna and the Mediterranean Sea, this wine acts as a translator of the environment, unlike anywhere else.
