Ellman combines high-level winemaking with their unique vineyard planted over an ancient riverbed at the base of Soda Canyon, and the results will give most Sauvignon Blanc fans goosebumps. The wines are made by Andy Erickson, who made Screaming Eagle from ’05 – ’10, and he also makes Mayacamas, which just ranked #2 in the recent Wine Spectator Top 100. If you love Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc, you should not miss this one, especially at this price.

The vineyard sits in the shadows of Altas Peak, and the vines are grown in soils strewn with crushed rock and cobble, which produce fruit with an extraordinary definition. The style is clean, pure, and focused, with defined impressions of shaved lemons, white peach, lemongrass, white flowers, and minerals.

The 2019 release spent just seven months in neutral barrels, which preserves the purity and vibrancy of fruit. If you’re looking for a genuinely stunning Sauvignon Blanc that’s made by a world-class winemaker, this is it.

"The 2019 Caryn Renae Sauvignon Blanc harkens an endless summer. Its brilliant lemon hue sparkles at the meniscus. Aromatics of boxwood, bergamot and a subtle gardenia alight the nose, and place you immediately at the shore of your choosing. The palate has notes ranging from blood orange and green papaya, to lemon meringue pie and pâte de fruit au pamplemousse with mouth-watering acidity and an expansive palate. The end result leaves you feeling piqued for a seaside picnic, and on the verge of a jaunt amongst the waves!”
