2014 WILLIAMS SELYEM “WESTSIDE ROAD NEIGHBORS” PINOT NOIR
$99.99 $99.99
When I think of California’s most iconic Pinot Noir producers, Williams Selyem is at the top of my list. Beginning with their opening vintage in 1982, they’ve consistently set the bar for domestic Pinot Noir. They made history once again in 2007 when Wine Enthusiast awarded their Litton Estate Pinot a perfect 100 Points… This was the first Pinot Noir in North America to earn 100 points from any major wine publication.
It’s no secret that Northern California has experienced a trifecta of terrific vintages, and Robert Parker’s recent article which focused primarily on Sonoma wines indicates that 2014 may even be slightly superior to 2013 for Sonoma Valley… Here’s a chance to own one of California’s most celebrated Pinot Noirs, from a truly blockbuster vintage.

2014 WILLIAMS SELYEM "WESTSIDE ROAD NEIGHBORS" PINOT NOIR
Winery Notes: "The 2014 Westside Road Neighbors sings with brilliant red fruit notes of red raspberry and cranberry jumping from the glass. The signature pencil lead and mineral-like complexion are very forward, owing to the rocky, gravelly soils on the hillsides of Westside Road. In addition to the brightness of the fruit, there is a meaty quality which the Pommard clone often brings to this cuvée. Refreshing flavors of Bing cherry and raspberry cling to the palate with tenacity. The mid-palate is subtly smoky and earthy with a touch of tamarind that adds to the complexity. The tannins are robust and compact but incredibly polished all the way to the mineral finish. The sheer density of this wine will require patience."
