2014 FORT ROSS “SEA SLOPES” PINOT NOIR, SONOMA COAST
$31.99 $31.99
Always intellectually pleasing, accentuated by soft, delicate layers, a deep core, and plush, velvety tannins… Fort Ross remains one of the darlings of the Sonoma Coast. Formed from the winery’s Estate vineyard, located in the Fort Ross Seaview AVA, which in 2011 was approved as its own Appellation within the Sonoma Coast, the area is also a source for such notables as Peter Michael, Marcassin, Martinelli, Flowers and Pahlmeyer, to list a few… With the average price of the above mentioned Pinots estimated to be upwards of $75/btl… at $31.99 Fort Ross is absolutely one of the best values from the entire Seaview Appellation…
This wonderfully round Pinot Noir with a supple texture, perfectly expresses the exceptional terroir found in the Fort Ross Seaview AVA. It was expertly guided from grape to bottle by renowned winemaker Jeff Pisoni and is loaded with class and wonderfully articulate flavors. If you’ve tasted any of the earlier vintages of Fort Ross, you likely need no further convincing, other than the fact that the 2014 is now available. If you haven’t tried a Pinot from this beloved producer, here’s a chance to enjoy one at a truly fantastic price.

2014 FORT ROSS "SEA SLOPES" PINOT NOIR, SONOMA COAST
From Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate, "The 2014 Pinot Noir Sea Slopes gets its name from overlooking the Pacific Ocean at an elevation of 1,200 to 1,700 feet. The wine spent nine months in 10% new French oak prior to being bottled unfined and unfiltered. This wine offers loads of Chinese black tea, pomegranate, floral notes and a hint of raspberry in a medium-bodied, fresh, lively, Côte de Beaune style. Drink it over the next 5-7 years." 90 Points
