2013 GUARACHI “GAP’S CROWN” PINOT NOIR

Exceedingly stunning, adorned by a beautiful weight and richness on the palate, and lovely, raspberry-scented bouquet, which comes laced with rose petals, sweet cherries, violets and Asian spices.  This Pinot which arises from the truly iconic Gap’s Crown Vineyard, is beautifully articulated through the lens of Consulting Winemaker Paul Hobbs, who was the consulting winemaker at Guarachi through 2016.  As one of the top winemakers in the world, having crafted such notables as Opus One, DuMOL, Peter Michael and Lewis, this Pinot had my full attention.

Emerging from the wind-swept Petaluma Gap AVA, an area that’s incredibly distinctive for its strong maritime influence and lingering coastal fog.  Gap’s Crown produces fruit of unmistakable qualities, and has also gone into single vineyard wines from Kosta Browne, Patz & Hall and Sojourn to name a few… If you love rich, silky, beautifully layered Pinots, you’ll want to secure a case of this while supplies last.
