2019 PORTALUPI L VENTURI VINEYARD PETITE SIRAH

Husband and wife team Tim Borges and Jane Portalupi are proudly celebrating the 20th anniversary of Portalupi Winery and the Cal-Ital-inspired wines they produce. They both identify deeply with their Italian heritage, and with Tim’s 40 plus years of experience in the wine industry, Portalupi honors the Italian immigrants who brought their values and viticulture to Northern California.

Portalupi’s 2019 vintage Petite Sirah comes from the organically certified L. Venturi Vineyard, planted on Pinole soils that were chosen for their excellent drainage and deficiency in organic matter, causing roots to dig deeply into the earth in search of nutrients. Tim ages his Petite Sirah in American oak, which he believes helps balance the variety and results in a super smooth mouthfeel that he recommends enjoying immediately or over the next couple of years.
