2019 CROCKER & STARR AVA CABERNET FRANC BLEND

In 1971 Charlie Crocker purchased the old 1870s Dowdell & Sons stone winery and surrounding vineyards and renamed the property Crocker Estate, growing and selling Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. In a handshake deal in 1997, Crocker & Starr was born as a partnership between Charlie and Pam Starr, an expert in crafting Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Sauvignon Blanc, and winemaker for Spottswoode at the time.

Pam converted the entire vineyard to organic farming, which she and Charlie are committed to maintaining along with a combination of classic, old-world vineyard practices and the best of new-world fruit. The 2019 AVA blend is 68% Cabernet Franc, 23% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit Verdot, and 2% Malbec, inspired by the world-famous wines of the Right Bank of Bordeaux with a historic American connection to some of Napa’s oldest continually farmed land.
