2014 T-VINE “HALLOWED GROUND” PROPRIETARY RED

Carved from ancient, historic vineyards throughout California, including the iconic Frediani Vineyard in Calistoga, which was planted in 1905 and makes up 63% of the final blend, T-Vine’s Hallowed Ground delivers everything I look for in old vine blends…  A tantalizing merger of Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Grenache, Carignan and Charbono, the 2014 offers up an incredibly vivid and seductive perfume laden with crushed red fruits, wild rose, cigar box and mixed chocolates.  At $29/btl, each year, there’s simply never enough of this wine to meet demand.

After spending 18 months in oak, this deep, penetrating blend of predominantly Zinfandel (59%) exhibits the kind of rich, concentrated aromas and majestic flavors, only achieved from very old vines.  For those of you who’ve tasted any of T-Vine’s wines over the years, no other information is needed other than here’s another winner from one of Napa Valley’s best.
