2014 LA SIRENA PIRATE TREASURED

When Heidi Barrett’s daughter Remi stopped by the tasting room to show us how great their 2014’s were showing now, we knew we were in for a treat, but nothing could have prepared us for how much they had improved over the last year.  As much as I loved them before, the extra time in the bottle allowed this brilliant 7 varietal blend to truly meld into a gloriously seamless masterpiece.  The deep and hedonistic bouquet draws you in and doesn’t let go, showing off detailed black raspberries, dried cherries, crushed blackberries, Mediterranean spices, and dried flowers.  This wine is drinking so great that at $100 it’s worth it’s weight in Gold… At $65, I’d walk the plank for it.

I always closely follow brands that are owned by some wine’s most talented producers, and La Sirena is Heidi Barrett’s own brand.  As one of Napa Valley’s most experienced and beloved winemakers, Heidi’s made wine for Amuse Bouche, Screaming Eagle, Dalla Valle, Grace Family, Revana, David Arthur and  Barbour and many others… There’s not much of the 2014 left, and I know that once people taste it and see how great it’s showing, this ship is going to sail away quickly.
