2013 PAHLMEYER “PROPRIETARY RED” NAPA VALLEY
$159.99 $159.99
An iconic American wine that’s attracted some of California’s most accomplished winemakers over the years, beginning with Randy Dunn with the inaugural 1986 vintage, followed by Bob Levy of Harlan Estate and Helen Turley to name a few… The remarkable 2013 Pahlmeyer Proprietary Red arose from Mountainous vineyards, including the winery’s Estate vineyard planted by David Abreu on Atlas Peak as well as Stagecoach and Rancho Chimiles. Earning 96 Points from both Robert Parker and James Suckling, the 2013 is simply stunning right now and has the structure to go 30+ years…
After smuggling suitcase clones into the US from France, Pahlmeyer planted their Estate vineyard in 1981, and by 1986, their first release earned a stellar 94 point score from Robert Parker, setting the pace for what would become one of Napa Valley’s most treasured wines. The 2013 blend checks in at 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, and utilizing all five of the Bordeaux varietals perfectly, this timeless and memorable blend is everything that we’ve come to expect from Pahlmeyer.

2013 PAHLMEYER "PROPRIETARY RED" NAPA VALLEY
From Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate - "An absolute stunner is the 2013 Proprietary Red Wine, a blend of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 6% Malbec and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. This is all mountain fruit from primarily the Stagecoach Vineyard and another site in Rancho Chimiles. Beautiful floral, smoky, blackcurrant notes mixed with acacia flowers and forest floor jump from the glass of this dense, full-bodied, concentrated and age-worthy wine. Like most 2013s, this is a 30-year wine with remarkable concentration, color and fruit extract. Forget it for another 3-4 years, and drink it over the following 30+ years. " 96 Points
From James Suckling, "So much purple fruit here like blueberries as well as minerals and black pepper. Full body, firm and silky tannins. Tight and compressed style with great persistence. Better in 2020, but so gorgeous now." 96 Points
