2013 LAIRD “JILLIAN’S BLEND” PROPRIETARY RED
$44.00 $44.00
Flawlessly constructed, and with no shortage of brawn, Laird’s sensational 2013 Jillian’s Blend reveals a tapestry of beautifully knit, meaty and extravagant flavors. Absolutely brilliant, the 2013 is predominately Cabernet Sauvignon (60%), sourced from the winery’s famed Mast Ranch Vineyard. Their single vineyard Mast Ranch Cab sells for $80/btl, FYI… At $44/btl, the new 2013 Jillian’s Blend is a fantastic value.  In 2013, Laird’s Consulting Winemaker was Paul Hobbs… one of the top winemakers in the world, having crafted such notables as Opus One, DuMOL, Peter Michael and Lewis.
Developing for 22 months in oak, this muscular, hedonistic blend generously offers layers of blueberry and blackberry fruit, intertwined with espresso roast, cassis and leather. The wine’s ample tannins are largely concealed under extravagant layers of rich dark fruits, baking spices and cocoa. Those of you who’ve enjoyed earlier vintages of Laird’s popular Jillian’s Blend, likely need no further convincing… This is undoubtably one of the winery’s best blends yet.

Winery Notes: "An alluring nose of charred tobacco and fine leather leads way to a tannin filled palate complimented by the flavors of Bing cherries, dusty blackberries and unsweetened cocoa. The bright lively finish of leather, espresso and baking spices leaves you craving your next sip. Structured to last this is sure to be a gem of your cellar."
