2014 DOMAINE BARAT “VAILLONS” PREMIER CRU CHABLIS
Dating back to 1795, Domaine Barat produces some of the most compelling and absolutely brilliant Chablis, and fortunately for us, they do so at a fantastically realistic price. Their Premier Cru Vaillons was crafted from half century old Chardonnay vines, grown in soils rich in clay and limestone. With a minuscule number of cases imported into the US, there’s simply never enough of this vibrant and delicious Premier Cru to meet demand.
The second highest classification in Burgundy, Premier Cru refers to level, or classification of the vineyard. I estimate the average price of high quality Premier Cru Chablis to range from $40 to $60 per bottle with some going well over $200. At under thirty per bottle with ground shipping included on any mixed or full 15 bottle case, I strongly recommend securing a case of this rare Chablis from Domaine Barat.

2014 DOMAINE BARAT "VAILLONS" PREMIER CRU CHABLIS
Tasting Notes: "The perfect combination of richness, combined with seductive and dynamic flavors; Inviting, lively notes of orange peel, pear and minerals on the nose. Classy and complex, with extraordinary energetic, stone and mineral characteristics which are classic to White Burgundy, pristine white fruits and hints of lychee. Fresh, clean and beautifully balanced, this is a wine that you will thoroughly enjoy to the last sip."
