2015 VINA COBOS COCODRILO CORTE, PROPRIETARY RED
$27.99 $27.99
Argentina spawns some of the greatest value wines in the world, and in the heart of Argentina is the iconic Mendoza region. Mendoza is perfectly suited for producing Bordeaux varietals of outstanding quality, and because the price of land and labor is so much lower than most other wine regions, winemakers can devote any necessary resources to create high quality wines at exceptionally low prices. Predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon, Viña Cobos’s new 2015 Cocodrilo seduces your senses with captivating aromas of chocolate dusted berries, exotic spices, lavender, scorched earth and espresso. Founded by Paul Hobbs in 1998, Viña Cobos set out to explore the true character of Bordeaux varietals from different regions throughout Argentina.
Conceived from Luján de Cuyo, Tunuyán and San Carlos in the Argentina’s crown jewel Valle de Uco region in Mendoza, the 2015 Cocodrilo is remarkably intense, penetrating and balanced. The 2015 checks in with a blend of 77% Cabernet Sauvignon enhanced with Cabernet Franc and Malbec, and spends 14 months in American oak barrels. At under thirty per bottle this extraordinary effort displays all of the elements that I look for in quality Cabernet Sauvignon from Argentina.
