And between these two areas, Chassagne-Montrachet tends to produce the most decadent wines. Chassagne is also slightly larger than Puligny, and with a more significant number of small family growers. Bouard-Bonnefoy’s Chassagne-Montrachet comes from four meticulously chosen sites, including Les Chenes, which borders premier cru vineyard La Matroie. The soils contain a mix of limestone, clay, and gravel, and they produce fruit with powerful intensity, intriguing rock minerals, and bright acidity.

The 2018 vintage in the Côte de Beaune produced opulent white Burgundies with a beautiful tension and fresh acidity.
