Just when you thought this wine couldn’t get any better, Laird’s newly released 2016 Chardonnay eclipses every expectation at this modest price point.  A perennial favorite, anybody that’s tasted Laird’s earlier vintages, knows this wine is special.  It was authored by Brian Mox, who spent several vintages crafting the high-scoring Lewis wines, which rank among the best in the Valley.  The 2016 is strikingly pure, focused and radiates with exotic fruits, nectarine, honey dipped pear and warm hazelnut. You’ll want to get some of this before the scores come out…

Arising from Laird’s Cold Creek Ranch Vineyard, located in in the slightly cooler microclimate of the Sonoma side of the Los Carneros district, the 2016 shines bright with a variety of citrus fruits, buttered pecans, pastries and Fuji Apple. Kept for 11 months in top-quality French oak barrels, if you love big, rich, California styled Chardonnay, that’s not the least bit heavy or overbearing, you’ll love this latest release from Laird.

Winery Notes: "The appearance of golden straw leads you through an aromatic journey with notes of tropical fruits, sweet nectarine, melon, and vanilla. The wine has flavors of jasmine, citrus, and ripe Fuji apple that are complemented by a creamy mouthfeel and hints of lemon curd. The finish lingers on the palate, making you yearn for the next sip."
