2015 LE PICH “RUSSIAN RIVER” CHARDONNAY

A sensual and beautifully detailed California Chardonnay, this phenomenal wine is made by Julien Fayard, who learned his craft at Chateau Lafite Rothschild.  Julien then gained valuable, first-hand experience as Director of Winemaking for Philippe Melka at elite Napa Valley producers like Lail, Gemstone, Hundred Acre, Vineyard 29, Mastery.   Absolutely weightless upon entry, exquisite flavors wrap your palate in a silk blanket, laced with white peach, caramelized apples, honeyed apricot, lemon oil and subtle hazelnuts.

Le Pich hired experienced vineyard consultant Steve Matthiason to ensure every grape cluster receives the precise amount of nourishment & stress.  Steve has worked as a vineyard consultant for such notables as Araujo Estate, Spottswoode, Chappellet, and David Arthur.  This elaborately flavored Chardonnay reminds me of a stunning Chevalier Montrachet and at $29/btl, I can’t more highly recommend this gorgeous 2015… you’ll be delighted to have it in your cellar.
