2014 RAMEY “RUSSIAN RIVER VALLEY” CHARDONNAY

Topping my list as one of the most consistent Chardonnay producers in Northern California, David Ramey offers up a handful of brilliant Chardonnays every year, regardless of vintage conditions. Fortunately for us 2014 was a banner year in the Russian River Valley area of Sonoma, and Ramey’s Chardonnay shines even brighter. Unreservedly inviting with detailed notes of honeyed pear, vivid nectarine, Meyer lemon and liquid floral. This beautiful expression of Russian River Valley Chardonnay was brought to life by David Ramey, one of the great pioneers in the California wine industry.  David helped put many iconic wineries on the map, including Dominus, Rudd and Jericho Canyon.

Its origins are from carefully selected vineyard sites including Dutton Ranch, Martinelli’s Laughlin Road and Rochioli, the 2014 was kept for 12 months in oak, and fermented sur-lie, a style which contributes greatly to the wine’s remarkable richness and dazzling length. Pure and focused and showing remarkable depth of flavor, we love this Chardonnay so much, that we’re pouring it by-the-glass in our Yountville store… Come in for a taste.
