2014 PRISONER WINE CO. “BLINDFOLD”
Bursting from the glass with layers of succulent peaches, honeyed melon and notions of pineapple, as the sister version to the popular Prisoner Red Blend, Blindfold White encompasses a unique varietal combination of Chardonnay, Roussanne, Viognier, Grenache Blanc, Marsanne, and Chenin Blanc. Administering what feels like Cirque du Soleil performance on your palate, with it’s ebullient vibrancy, delineation and stunning purity, the wine is surprisingly delicate and nuanced and simply fascinating to drink. At $26.99/btl I would recommend making some serious space in the cellar.
Formulated from dozens of great vineyard sites throughout California including Sangiacomo, Camp 4, and Vogelzang, each distinct vineyard block adds its own unique puzzle piece, helping to complete the final blend which is remarkably unique and wildly delicious. Resting for 10 months in a combination of French and Hungarian Oak, magnified with 15% stainless steel fermentation, the new Prisoner white casts a tremendous amount of enjoyment and simply won’t last at this price.

2014 PRISONER WINE CO. "BLINDFOLD"
Winemaker's Notes: "...The wine opens up with alluring aromas of freshly peeled mandarin orange, peach nectar, and honeydew melon. Hints of white citrus blossom, marzipan and toasted hazelnut add a nice layer of complexity. On the palate, the wine has a rich creamy entry that is balanced by bright acidity and minerality. These characteristics carry through to the finish with flavors of lime zest and toasted marshmallow."
