With all the grace and elegance of an Olympic Gymnast, Foley Johnson’s extravagantly rich, and indulgently layered Chardonnay is undeniably one of the most popular Chardonnays that we’ve featured at our tasting room in Yountville… In fact, many of you who’ve tasted it have declared that it’s better than most $50 Napa Chardonnays.  It reveals an abundance of lemon meringue, crème brulée, honeysuckle and freshly picked peach, that leap from the glass and completely wraps your taste buds with opulence, poise, and serenity.  Composed by Steve Nelson, former assistant winemaker at Lewis Cellars and winemaker at Chalk Hill, this is an absolutely stunning expression of Carneros Chardonnay.

Emerging from Wobken, Batto, and Patrick’s Vineyards in the renowned Carneros Appellation, this wine spends 10 months in oak, and is aged sur lie, a French term meaning literally ‘on the sediment.’   The sur lie style aging plays a large role in contributing to this wine’s distinctly complex flavors.  If you’re searching for a rich, textured Chardonnay with incredible balance and finesse… This is it.

Winery Notes: "...a beautiful golden color. This medium-bodied wine is swarming with aromas of pears, coconut, vanilla, and honey. The broad and expansive palate complements the aromas with sweet and rich notes. A bold wine with flavors of golden delicious apple, buttered toast, vanilla and honey this truly is a delicious wine that can be paired with just about anything!"
