2019 MOUNT VEEDER WINERY NAPA VALLEY CABERNET SAUVIGNON
$48.00 $48.00
Michael and Arlene Bernstein were the first to plant vines on Mount Veeder in 1970. Soon after, they discovered that 59 of their original Cabernet Sauvignon cuttings would flourish, so they established the first winery on the mountain with the help of their close friend, Robert Mondavi. The Bernstein’s were a driving force behind the creation of the Mount Veeder AVA and were the first in Napa Valley to plant Petit Verdot, completing their vineyard with five Bordeaux varieties.
The Winery Ranch is where they planted their first vines and also where the Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced today from the steeply terraced vineyards that look like a giant staircase. The 2019 vintage is 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 2% Malbec, and 1% Cabernet Franc, with supple characteristics that are irresistible at the moment and combine with a powerful concentration from the mountain’s unique terroir.
