2018 VON STRASSER DIAMOND MOUNTAIN CABERNET SAUVIGNON

Diamond Mountain produces age-worthy Cabernets with firm tannins, concentrated fruit, and intriguing volcanic nuance. Von Strasser and his team craft their wines to be an elegant expression of the area’s distinctive terroir by strategically blending all six of their single vineyards. They look for barrels with softer tannins and more approachable fruit characteristics, and the resulting wine is not only stunning now, but it will go the distance if you let it.

Von Strasser’s vineyards produce concentrated berries with remarkable character, due to the culmination of intense sunlight, cool nights, and porous volcanic soil.

The 2018 release consists of nearly 80% Cabernet enhanced with Petit Verdot, Merlot, and Malbec, and aged 18 months in barrel. The wine has a penetrating intensity, firm yet approachable tannins, concentrated red currants, and hints of eucalyptus on the palate.
