Erikson & Caradin proprietors are keenly aware that soil, elevation, and climate play crucial roles in fine wine production; however, expertise and ambition can take wine to the next level. Erikson & Caradin found their beginnings in 2013, selling their small production to good friends and restaurants and continue to remain craft-focused with only 50 barrels produced across eight different designations.

Their specialty is producing terroir-driven wines, aligning with winemaker Kevin Morrisey’s skillset after interning at Chateau Petrus in Bordeaux before Stags’ Leap Winery, Etude, and Ehlers. This Craftsman & Wolves Cabernet emerged from two rows of VSP (Vertical Shoot Position) trained clone 337 Cabernet Sauvignon vines planted in alluvial soils created by ancient river beds providing rich, powerful fruit with profoundly complex minerality.

Description

2018 ERIKSON & CARADIN CRAFTSMEN & WOLVES CABERNET SAUVIGNON

“The Craftsmen & Wolves Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 combines a complex array of aromas and flavors to create one beautiful bottle of wine. The palate mirrors the nose of black currants, fresh figs, violets, rocky minerals, and hints of sweet vanilla and is also compact, penetrating, and focused. There is a perfect balance between the elemental non-fruit components that walk stride-for-stride with the fruit’s intensity. The tannins are silky, and the finish is long, making it a delight to enjoy now and over the next ten years.”
