2018 CANVASBACK RED MOUNTAIN WASHINGTON STATE CABERNET SAUVIGNON

Duckhorn’s keen eye for detail and first-rate quality wine production has led to the creation of their Washington State project Canvasback. The winery is part of Washington State’s smallest Appellation, Red Mountain, where many of the state’s most celebrated Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards sit on gently rolling slopes of high alkalinity and calcium carbonate content soils.

Winemaker and Washington native Brian Rudin has a passion for viticulture and works closely with prominent Washington vineyard manager Dick Boushey to create the wine’s terroir-driven style. The significant difference between the daytime and nighttime temperatures ensures fresh acidity, and the 2018 vintage is proving to be one of the best in the last decade, with a finely balanced and age-worthy structure.
