2017 STAGS’ LEAP WINERY NAPA VALLEY CABERNET SAUVIGNON
$49.99 $49.99
It’s easy to articulate Stags’ Leap Winery’s history, since it’s one of the oldest wine estates in Napa Valley. Still, it’s what they’re doing now under winemaker Christophe Paubert that’s equally impressive. Paubert is a global winemaker who’s held positions at Chateau d’Yquem and Gruaud-Larose in Bordeaux, and has worked on projects in Chile, Spain, and Washington State before joining Stags Leap. The current releases speak for themselves, and the 2017 Napa Valley Cab at $50, is a superior value.
Stags’ Leap Winery’s Napa Valley Cabernet combines a matrix of fruit from the winery’s Estate in the Stags Leap District with carefully chosen sites in the cooler-climate Southern portion of Napa Valley that produce fruit with a similar expression.
The meticulous wine team tests each fermentation daily to determine the exact timing of pump-overs and the optimal temperature for maceration and extraction. The results are stunning to taste, and if you love deep, full-bodied Cabernet with plenty of personality, this one is for you.
