2017 FRISINGER OAK KNOLL DISTRICT CABERNET SAUVIGNON
$79.99 $79.99
More often than not, it’s the people involved in a winery that make it something truly remarkable, and this winery beautifully illustrates that point. Jim and Karen Frisinger founded their property in the 1980s. With Jim’s masters in Viticulture and Oenology, his grapes soon attracted icons Chateau Montelena, Duckhorn, and Beringer, who all sourced grapes from them. Then add another generation of passionate proprietors, combined with consulting winemaker Grant Long Jr, whom you might know from Witchery, Aonair, James Joseph, and Steps, and the results simply beg to be tasted.
Frisinger’s vineyard is located in Oak Knoll in the evening shadows of the Mayacamas Mountains, just South West of Trefethen. The complex soils derived from the large Dry Creek alluvial fan, as well as a micro-climate that’s one of the coolest in Napa Valley, produce gorgeous fruit of incredible character.
They produced the 2017 vintage in a deeply enchanting, rich, compelling style that we’d expect from Grant Long’s wine. On the palate, the wine has a beautiful core of fruit, ladened with complex spices, minerals, and assorted chocolates.

![]() |
"Our Cabernet Sauvignon is from the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley and is aged in new French Oak for 24 months. The FrisingerFamily 2017 Cabernet has concentrated flavors of black cherry, marionberry, and prune, with subtle hints of baking spice, hoisin, and graphite. The nose is loaded with black and blue fruit and a delicate amount of pine and cloves."
