2015 MAROON SPECIAL RESERVE COOMBSVILLE CABERNET SAUVIGNON
The top wine produced at Maroon Vineyards in Coombsville is their Special Reserve Cabernet, and with just 200 cases made, it’s always a race to get it. They produce the wine in a powerful yet elegant style that’s less common in Napa Valley.
The 2015 Cabernet arose from the winery’s Estate Vineyard in Coombsville, where for years, the winery sold fruit to producers in Napa Valley. On the palate, the 2015 vintage is richer than the 2014 and is focused and detailed with intense dark berries, vibrant red currants, clay, red flowers, and vanilla bean.
This stunning wine emerges from one of Napa Valley’s top vintages, which the Wine Spectator describes as producing “significantly lower yields…Quality is high.” The 2015 vintage is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and aged for a full 24 months in oak before bottling. If you’re looking for an elegant, medium/full-bodied Cabernet with plenty of power and complexity, this is it.
