2014 RAMA “NAPA VALLEY” CABERNET SAUVIGNON
Anytime you get the same recommendation by multiple sources, your ears perk up. Each time you hear it, your desire to explore it further builds, until you finally give it a shot. When we tasted the 2014 Rama Cabernet we loved it and when we started researching to see what others thought about it, we knew we had to share it with you. Referencing recent vintages of Rama, some of the many comments that resonated with us were, “an extreme value,” “Great value Napa Cab” “Very enjoyable” and “Beautiful cab!” Robert parker had similar comments on the 2014, calling it “Another sleeper of the vintage and terrific value.” You definitely want to get on board with this wine, but don’t wait too long… there were less than 1,000 cases produced.
Produced by talented grape grower Mario Bazan, who spent 35 years farming some of Napa Valley’s most iconic vineyards, including Joseph Phelps, Opus One and To-Kalon, along with consulting winemaker Dave DeSante… Dave has an arsenal of experience including work at Robert Mondavi, S. Anderson and his own label DeSante wines… With a sturdy build, the 2014 Rama is brilliant right out of the bottle, covering your palate in both red and black fruits, espresso roast, violets and toasty oak…

From Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate, "Another sleeper of the vintage and terrific value (which is not easy to find) is the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Rama... this offers plenty of richness, concentration and intensity. The tannins are soft and the wine round and juicy, with plenty of blackcurrants. It has a healthy dense purple color, and its medium to full-bodied personality is delicious and compelling. Drink it over the next 5-10 years."
