2014 PAHLMEYER PROPRIETARY RED
$159.99 $159.99
How many wines can you think of, that the very name or classic label will evoke thoughts of grand prestige and regal qualities? Pahlmeyer does so every time. The winery has attracted some of California’s most accomplished winemakers over the years, beginning with Randy Dunn with the inaugural 1986 vintage, followed by Bob Levy of Harlan Estate and Helen Turley to name a few… This remarkable 97 point wine arose from Mountainous vineyards including the winery’s Estate vineyard planted by David Abreu on Atlas Peak as well as Stagecoach and Rancho Chimiles. It’s simply stunning right now and has the structure to go two decades and with the recent 97 point review, it may not be available for long.
After smuggling suitcase clones into the US from France, Pahlmeyer planted their Estate vineyard in 1981, and by 1986, their first release earned a stellar 94 point score from Robert Parker, setting the pace for what would become one of Napa Valley’s most treasured wines. The 2014 blend checks in at 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, and utilizes all five of the Bordeaux varietals perfectly, this timeless and memorable blend is everything that we’ve come to expect from Pahlmeyer.
