In Renaissance times, a courtesan was a well-educated woman trained in arts who gained privileges through her association with the wealthy and upper class. Bridget Raymond, an Oakville-born and raised winemaker, grew up playing near the upper echelon vineyards, where she sources fruit for her appropriately named (and ridiculously good) Cabernet.

Bridget wouldn’t reveal the vineyard’s location even after indulging in a bit of wine, only giving hints of a place near Oakville’s volcanic Eastside, neighboring some of the most outstanding plots in the region. Her winemaking style is centered on aging, cellaring her reds for around 30 months in barrel and another 1-2 years in bottle before release, resulting in a wine with soft, approachable tannins and impressive longevity that’s utterly enchanting and impossible to forget.

“You know the sensation you get when you drink something so delicious that you can’t even stop yourself from saying “mmm” after each sip? Yep, that’s what we have here. Beginning with enticing aromas of violets, lavender, ripe black fruits, and graphite, this full-bodied, voluptuous wine wraps your tongue in a Cashmere sweater of velvety tannins with flavors of blueberries, black plums, black currants, English Breakfast tea, and dark chocolate. Mmm.”
