2012 LAIRD “NAPA VALLEY” CABERNET SAUVIGNON
$59.99 $59.99
Seldom is a brand so compelling and rock-solid with every vintage that it will develop an unwavering following, but this one certainly has…  Flawlessly constructed, Laird’s 2012 Napa Cabernet is rich and extracted, releasing a tapestry blackberry preserves, espresso roast, cassis and leather.  Built from equal parts Mast Ranch and Flat Rock vineyards, Laird makes single vineyard Cabernets from both of these sites which retail for $80 to $90 per bottle…
Laird has always attracted terrific winemakers. The wines are currently made by Brian Mox, who spent several vintages at Lewis Cellars. In 2012, Laird’s Consulting Winemaker was Paul Hobbs… one of the top winemakers in the world, having crafted such notables as Opus One, DuMOL, and Peter Michael to name a few. This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from Yountville spends an impressive 22 months in oak and generously delivers hedonistic delights with velvety tannins and great length.

2012 LAIRD "NAPA VALLEY" CABERNET SAUVIGNON
From Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate, "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa, is an equal-part blend of Flat Rock and Mast vineyards. It is a sexy wine offering up notes of espresso roast, melted chocolate and blackcurrants in a decidedly hedonistic and plush style. The color is a dark plum/purple. The wine is round, generous, expansive and altogether silky and pleasing. Some oak is present, but overall the wine is very well-balanced, ready to drink and yet should evolve and hold together for up to a decade." 90 Points
